Inspiration for wholesome living

My greatest teachers – children.

Aug 5, 2023

TEACHERS

My greatest teachers (and there have been many, and there will still be many), have been my children, and children in general.

Ive learnt to look at things through their eyes, fresh, new, and exciting.

Ive learnt to get excited about little things, like teeny tiny mushrooms growing on the underside of rotten wood. 🍄

Ive learnt to run wild, and barefoot.

To swim in wild water.

To climb, clamber and jump again.

That sometimes you need to just do it, without thinking. Park that fear, or the million questions, and just jump. Get on that gigantic horse.

Live in the moment.

Ive learnt to question everything, and let them question everything. So they learn. And I learn.

Ive learnt to let them trust that innate instinct. With situations, with people, with anything.

Ive learnt that they are wild to begin with, and being feral is fantastic, its out of the box, and that scares people. Thats okay too. They are all authentic, all the time.

Ive learnt that honesty, authenticity and transparency are my favourite things and you can always rely on kids for these.

Ive learnt to trust my body and its wisdom, as a child does, whilst climbing a tree.

Live in the moment, no regrets. Jump, leap, crawl, growl, dance, play, say the tough things, trust. All of it.

Children see magic.

When last have you observed a childs natural behavior? When last have you allowed yourself to step back into that, even just for a minute. What joy!

Garden gifts

Garden gifts

GARDEN GIFTS   It tickles me to walk into a garden, pick my lunch, rinse the dirt off, and gobble it up.   It tickles me to watch my kids walk into a garden to pick medicine for a cut, or a cough, or make a poultice for a wounded animal.   Garden gifts....

Lunchbox & snacking 101

Hey there mama's, papa's, grannies and grandpa's, and anyone who likes a good snacky snack, slide a little closer! Navigating the snack isle can be mind boggling at the best of times, add to that the lunchbox boredome dilemma, and you have yourself a ripper of a...

On turning 40 (3rd October 2022)

On turning 40..   Growing up, 40 seemed so far away. It was a number that was spoken of with such mixed emotion. Either you were ancient when you got to 40 & life as you knew it ended, or life only started at 40, & you became all you were meant to be all...

My tech sabbatical and what I learned

What happens when you switch off every device you own for an entire month? Simplicity and bliss (and a few disgruntled individuals), that's what happens. As of 1st December 2021, I embarked on my very first 'tech sabbatical'. I switched everything off, and the kids...
